WELCOME
Myers Learning, LLC, is a learning company based in Denver, Colorado. Our teachers help children build strong and playful minds and develop their passion for creativity and invention. We offer after-school enrichment classes and summer camps around Scratch — an MIT-developed computer programming language for children. Students in our educational programs use Scratch to create video games, animated stories, interactive art, and electronic inventions. As our students create Scratch projects, they learn computer programming, math, and logic skills — and grow as artists and engineers.
The programs we offer within our partner schools are social, playful, inventive, and fun. They are designed to appeal equally to boys and to girls. Our after-school electives and summer camps serve 16-24 students, each of whom uses a personal computer to create and share projects that build on their strengths and interests. Our student-teacher ratio is capped at 8:1.
A CREATIVE SOCIETY
The United States has led a digital revolution that has put a powerful personal computer on nearly every desk, and increasingly in every pocket. The digital age and the Internet have helped drive our evolution from an industrial to a creative society. To prepare children for today′s world, we believe that the ″Three R′s″ (reading, writing, and arithmetic) remain important, but equally important are advanced computer skills, and the ″Three C′s,″ (creative problem-solving, critical thinking, and collaboration). These are the 21st Century Skills that will prepare children to succeed and contribute in a creative society.
Students in Myers Learning programs develop these skills by using computers to invent, design, create, and experiment — and by collaborating in fun and challenging ″learning communities.″
